Docket No. 50-362 Prompt Report Licensee Event Report No.82-006 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 3 This submittal is in accordance with the reporting' requirements of Technical Specifications Section 6.9.1.12.e of Appendix A to Operating License NPF-15 for San Onofre Unit 3, and confirms our December 17, 1982 prompt notification to the NRC of a reportable occurrence involving the Emergency Safety Feature Actuation Signal (ESFAS).
On December 17,1982 at 1410 while in Mode 5, the ESFAS was inadvertently activated. This event resulted in the simultaneous actuation of Containment Isolation Actuation Signal (CIAS), Safety Injection Actuation Signal (SIAS), and the Recirculation Actuation Signal (RAS).
The cause of this failure, the circumstances surrounding the event, the corrective measures taken, and measures to prevent recurrence, will be the subject of a written follow-up report with a topy of Licensee Event Report (LER) No.82-006, and will be submitted before December 30, 1982.
