SPECIAL REPORT l
CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT I PIP l-C94-0135 Vibration and Loose Parts Monitoring System Channels 9 and 11 l
On February 3,1994, Channel 9 (S/G A channel 2) and Channel 11 (S/G C channel 2) were declared inoperable. These channels failed to meet the band limited RMS acceptance criteria during perfonnance of the 18 month channel calibration test. A work request
(#94005375) has been written to repair these channels during a future outage of sufficient length.
Since these channels have been inoperable for more than 30 days, they are reportable to the NRC pursuant to Technical Specification 3.3.3.9.
