SPECIAL REPORT CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1 PIP 1-C94-0135 Vibration and Loose Parts Monitcring System Channels 6, 7, and 10 On January 25, 1994, Channel 6 (S/G B channel 1), Channel 7 (S/G C channel 1), and l Channel 10 (S/G B channel 2) were declared inoperable. All channels failed to meet the  :

l acceptance criteria during performance of the 18 month channel calibration test. A work l

request (#94003971) has been written to repair these channels during a future outage of sufficient length.

Since these channels have been inoperable for more than 30 days, they are reportable to l the NRC pursuant to Technical Specification 3.3.3.9.
