DRAFT INFORMATION NOTICE ENTITLED ' ADEQUACY OF EMERGENCY AND ESSENTIAL LIGHTING" We have reviewed your memorandum of January 11, 1990, which transmitted the subject draft information notice. On the basis of our review and discussion with N. K. Trehan of your. staff, we believe that the March 3,1989 event involving the loss of emergency lighting capability at Palo Verde Unit 3 was an isolated case. Our staff performed a NUDOCS database search regarding this failure but found no instances of failure similar to those described in your memorandum.
Therefore, we conclude that an information notice is not warranted at this time.
However, we will enter your input into our database of potential, generic safety issues for future followup, if appropriate, if you have any questions, please contact ry office.
