Dear Sir:
The NRC was notified of a potentially reportable deficiency in the referenced telephone conversation. At that time, it was estimated that a determination of reportability would be made within thirty (30) days.
Due to the extensive investigation and evaluation requi ed, an Interim Report is attached.
It is now expected that this inforaation will be finalized by November 18, 1982, at which time a complete report will be submitted.

o INTERIM REPORT - DER 82-46 POTENTIAL REPORTABLE DEFICIENCY ARIZONA PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY (APS)
PVNGS UNIT 1 1.
POTENTIAL PROBLEM
-As documented by Combustion Engineering (CE) letter V-CE-20050 dated April 29,1982, two (2) ITT Barton Model 763 pressure trans-mitters, whish do not meet the required overpressure range, have been installed in Unit 1.
The transmitters' range is 0-735 psig, and the CE overpressure requirement is 2235-2485 psig. The condition is applicable to the Pressurizer Restricted Range transmitters, tag numbers PT-103 and PT-104. An additional four (4) ITT Barton Model 763 transmitters have been delivered to the jobsite, but the applica-tion for these has not been established.
II.
APPROACK TO AND STATUS OF PROPOSED RESOLUTION Bechtel is currently corresponding with CE to disposition this item.
CE is issuing a Purchase Order supplement to obtain the correct transmitters.
III.. PROJECTED COMPLETION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION AND SUBMITTAL OF THE FINAL REPORT Evaluation of this condition and submittal of the Final Report is forecast to be completed by November 18, 1982.
