i AFFIDAVIT OF ROBERT V.

MYERS i

My name is Robert V. Myers, Vice President, Generation i

Resources, for Puget Sound Power & Light Company.

My business address is Puget Power Building, Bellevue, Washington 98009.

I am responsible for design, construction, and operation of l

the Skagit/Hanford Nuclear Project (S/HNP).

l The purpose of this affidavit is to address CFSP Conten-tion 26, as admitted by the Licensing Board in its Memorandum and Order of July 6, 1982.

CFSP Contention 26 states:

Petitioner contends that the electric equipment, other than that supplied by General l

Electric will not be qualified to IEEE 344-1975 and Regulatory Guide 1.100, and thus the plant will not conform to current standards of safety and regulations.

Section 3.10 of Amendment 23 to the PSAR for S/HNP stated f

i that electrical equipment, other than that supplied by General Electric (GE), would be seismically qualified in accordance with IEEE 341-1971.

Following submission of Amendment 23, the NRC Staff commented that electrical equipment should be seismic-ally qualified in accordance with IEEE 344-1975 and Regulatory Guide 1.100.

(See Question 271.1 attached to letter dated February 12, 1982 from Elinor G. Adensam to Frank Spangenberg).

The Applicants reviewed this comment and have now committed that Seismic Category I electrical equipment for S/HNP will be seismically qualified in accordance with IEEE 344-1975 and I

Regulatory Guide 1.100.

This commitment appears in Section 3.10.1.3.1 of Amendment 24 to the PSAR.
