Dear Sir:
J By letter dated June 10, 1982 (and as revised June 28, 1982), we forwarded our response to a request made by your staff concerning inspections related to Inspection and Enforcement Bulletin 79-13, Revision 2.
The following i
results of inspection conducted during the recently completed July 1982 outage on Unit No. 2 are being submitted as per the commitment made in the foregoing referenced letters, j
A. Three (3) Steam Generator Feedwater pipe-to-nozzle welds (line nos. 16" WFTD-423-601-02, and 16" WFTD-422-601-02) were volumetrically examined.
There were no reportable indications by radiography.
B. A visual examination of all Feedwater Header Pipe Hangers inside the Containment (32) was performed. There was one (1) rejectable indication.
The Travel Stop on hanger SH-31, line WFPD-423-601-02 was found to be in the locked position. A Maintenance Report was issued and the locking device was removed (N2-82-07130930). A visual inspection of the hanger indicated i
no structural distress. A Plant Deviation was submitted.
C. A visual inspection of all Feedwater System snubbers inside the containment was conducted on 2-PT-79.2 to verify operability and conformance to design.-
One snubber was removed and operability was checked on the test stand (WFPD 205). All of the snubbers inspected met the site acceptance criteria.
D. In addition to the above inspections, an area of at least one pipe diameter of the Main Feed Water line downstream at the Auxiliary Feedwater-to-Main i
Feedwater connection was volumetrically inspected using Ultrasonic inspection techniques. The inspection was conducted on all three Feedwater lines. There were no reportable indications found by UT.
