Narrative Summary of Operatino Experiences Unit 1 began this operating period at 80% of. rated thermal power (RTP) in end-of-cycle coastdown.
On January 7, 1994, at 1600 hours0.0185 days <br />0.444 hours <br />0.00265 weeks <br />6.088e-4 months <br /> reactor recirculation flow was increased to 108% from 105%.
This resulted in an-increase of approximately 2% RTP. ' Power was now at 79% RTP.
On January 14, 1994, at 1930 hours0.0223 days <br />0.536 hours <br />0.00319 weeks <br />7.34365e-4 months <br /> a manual scram was inserted per procedure as a resvlt of both recirculation pumps tripping due to a stator water cooling runback.
The stator water cooling runback was the result of an indicator bulb failing during installation and subsequently shorting.
This resulted in energizing the trip circuit for the stator-water cooling pump.
The backup pump was out of service for planned maintenance work.
The plant was brought to an orderly shutdown with no anomalies.
On January 15, 1994, at'1712 hours0.0198 days <br />0.476 hours <br />0.00283 weeks <br />6.51416e-4 months <br /> the plant entered operational condition 2 when the reactor mode switch.was placed in Startup.
On January 16, 1994 at 1435 hours0.0166 days <br />0.399 hours <br />0.00237 weeks <br />5.460175e-4 months <br /> the plant entered operational condition 1 when the reactor mode switch was placed in run.
On January 17, 1994, at 2222 hours0.0257 days <br />0.617 hours <br />0.00367 weeks <br />8.45471e-4 months <br /> power was restored to 76% RTP in end-of cycle coastdown.
Unit 1 ended this operating period in end-of-cycle coastdown I
at 70% RTP.
