50-327, and 50-328 On March 31, 1982, Federal Regulation 10 CFR 50.54 was amended to state that all licensees of operating nuclear units shall, by June 29, 1982, take reasonable steps to obtain onsite property damage insurance in the maximum amount available from private sources writing this coverage.
In accordance with this regulation, '1VA has purchased onsite property daage insurance for 4
both the Sequoyah and Browns Ferry Nuclear Plants. Enclosed for your information is the status ard details of 'IVA's property insurance coverage for these facilities at this time.

Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant a.
On March 9,1982, WA placed $450 M of primary nuclear property insurance with Nuclear Mutual Limited (N4L) with a $10 M deductible.
b.
On April 15, 1982, American Nuclear Insurers and 141tual Atcznic Energy Reinsurance Pool (ANI/MAERP) began offering a layer of coverage of
$67 M portion of $500 M excess of $500 M.
WA purchased this coverage on' July 15,~ 1982.

Sequoyah Nuclear Plant a.
On March 25, 1982, WA placed $450 M of primary nuclear property insurance with ANI/MAERP with a $10 M deductible, b.
On April 15, 1982, ANI/MAERP began offering another $10 M of primary nuclear property insurance excess of $450 M.
WA purchased this additional coverage on June 18, 1982, making the total primary coverage on Sequoyah $460 M.
c.
On July 15, 1982, WA also purchased the $67 M portion of $500 M excess of $500 M from ANI/MAERP as described in 1.b. above.
