Dear Mr. Felton:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act 5 USC 5 9 (subpart A), Public Citizen's Critical Mass Energy Project hereby request copies of or otherwise access to the infor-mation detailed as follows: ,

1. Any and all studies, reports, memoranda, Commission briefing papers, or other documents written, received or routed during or since 1980 regarding the rule-making for fire protection (CFR 50.48 and appendix R to CFR 50). This includes, but is not limited to, SECY-82-13A and SECY-82-13B.

Not included in this request are c.omments by individuals or organizations on the rulemaking petition.

2. Any and all studies, reports, memoranda or documents

. identifying the original date of plant implementation for CFR 50.48, the requests and approvals for exten-sions to this date and documents which include specific information about which plants have met their deadline and which have not. Also included are any memoranda, including those internal to the staff of Commission offices, which discuss or predict whether licensees may or may not meet these deadlines. Only documents written during or since 1980 are being requestied.

3. Any documents, studies, or memoranda which diset ss, analyze or evaluate the fire at Virginia Electric and Power Company's North Anna 2 Nuclear Power Plant on July'3, 1981.

4. Any memoranda, reports, studies, or other documents whicli discuss, analyze, evaluate or otherwise. list any or all fires during the period of 1980-82 ' occur-ring :in operation nuclear power plants. Inclu'ded in this request are any documents memoranda or studies j evaluating the safety significance and/or safe'ty l
