A proposed revision to the Waterford 3 Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Program - Withdrawal Schedule is submitted here for NRC review and approval in accordance with 10 CFR 50 Appendix H.II.B.3.
The current withdrawal schedule is maintained in the Waterford 3 Technical Specifications (TS).
However, Technical Specification Change Request NPF-38-148 (W3F1-93-0099) was submitted to the NRC on December 14, 1993 to remove the schedule from the TS and maintain it in the Waterford 3 Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR). Before and after versions of the schedule are attached.
The revised schedule was developed based on surveillance capsule results for Capsule 2 (also referred to as capsule W-97.)
It was developed in accordance with 10 CFR 50 Appendix H requirements using ASTM E-185-92. A review of proposed revised standards shewed no changes-affecting the method f
for determining the withdrawal schedule. Therefore, future modifications to 10 CFR 50 Appendix H by reference to the revised ASTM E-185-93 standard are not expected to alter the capsule withdrawal requirements. Capsule 2 was pulled during Refuel 4 on April 11, 1991.
