Docket No. STN 50-482 Subj: Final 10CFR50.55(e) Report - Essential Service Water Pipe Support Embedded Plate Stud Failure
Dear Mr. Seidle:
This letter is the final report on the Essential Service Water Pipe Support Embedded Plate. Kansas Gas and Electric Company and the Architect / Engineer have completed the evaluation of the embedded plate and concluded that, had the deficiency not been detected, the safety of the plant would not have been adversely a f fected. Therefore, this matter is not reportable under the requirements of 10CFR50.55(e).
A copy of the Architect / Engineer's final report on this matter is attached.
It provides a detailed summary of the testing and engineering evaluation of the embedded plate. Please note that Appendices I, II and III of the report are voluminous and have therefore been omitted in this transmittal. However, complete documentation, including the above-mentioned Appendices, are available for your review.
