the Sacr== ento Municipal Utility District is hereby submitting the following written confinnation of a 24-hour Licensee Event Report initially reported to Mr.. C. 'Zwetzig of your office -an October 31, 1960.
As a. result of Y & 'N Eu11 erin -7!H)l3 reviews it was detemined that certaf.a containment isolation valvee6 specifically the air-operated valves, utL11ma solenoid pilot valves which do not meet -the current environnencal.qualif acatian. criteria.
. The pilot molenoid valves in question are manuf:=3 red' by Auteenatic Switch Co. (ASCO) and. ate not gus11fied to recirculating fin'id radiation levels following LOCA.
It is the District's intsat to replace the solenoid valves with envir-tally qualified units in accordance with the time frame specified in the bulletin.
In the interim,. justification for continued operation is predicated.upon the valves being outside containment ' isolation valves.
Each valve in question has a redundant inside containment isolation valve which is a quellfied Motor Operated Valve.
