SAFETY REVIEW SCHEDULE (GRA?lD GULF NUCLEAR STATION, VilITS 1 & 2)

This letter is in regard to the establishment of a schedule for our safety review of your application for an operating license for the Grand Gulf fluclear Station, Units 1 and 2 located in Claiborne County, Mississippi. We have evaluated our workload and based on this.evalua-tion, we estimate the Prospective Decision Date to be March 6,1981.

A summary of the more important milestones is provided as an enclosure for your information and review, based on infomation available at this time.

It should be realized that the enclosed dates are target milestones which may require scme changes as the review process proceeds. While we will not fomally inform you, by letter, of minor changes to the schedule, we will confirm in writing, of significant changes to tne schedule.

Any matters of disagreement or areas of uncertainty which might arise during the review of your applicaticn should be discussed-promptly with the project manager.

If he cannot resolve tnem himself, he will arrange for a meeting with appropriate management to discuss them..

This will avoid unnecessary schedule delays.

Many of the milestones of the staff review require s::ecific input, preparation, or carticipation from you, such as responses to questiens,

site visits, ACRS meetings and responses to public and agency comments.
