Appendix A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Baltimore Gas and Electric Company Docket:
50-317 Calvert Cliffs Unit 1 License:
DPR-53 During inspection from June 15 - July 13,1982, and in accordance with the NRC Enforcement Policy (45FR9987, March 9,1982), the following violation was identified:
A.
Technical Specification 3/4.3.2, Engineered Safety Feature Actuation System Instrumentation, requires that the' Auxiliary Feedwater Actuation System (AFAS) be operable in Modes 1, 2, and 3.
Contrary to the above, the AFAS was inoperable following entry into Mode 3 from Mode 4 at 9:05 a.m., on June 28, 1982 until about 11:30 a.m. the same day.
This is a Severity Level IV Violation (Supplement I).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10CFR2.201, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company is hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending your response time.
