Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by
Ms. C. M. Christoffer and Mr. J. L. Belanger of this office on August 13 -
,
October 3,1990, of activities at Zion Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2,
authorized by NRC Operating Licenses No. DPR-39 and No. DPR-48, and to the
discussion of our findings with Mr. T. Joyce at the conclusion of the
inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during

the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel,

No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
Areas examined during this inspe', tion concern a subject matter which is exempt
from disclosure according to Phet 73, Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations,
Section73.21(c)(2). This information must be handled and protected in
i

accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 73.21.
Consequently, our report
of this inspection will not be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
However, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations,
a copy of the attachment to the inspection report will be placed in the

NRC Public Document Room.
