APPLICATION FOR THE MODEL NO. NPC TRANSPORT PACKAGE, REVISION 9 - ACCEPTED FOR REVIEW (EPID NO. L-2019-LLA-0275)
Dear Mr. Kmiec:
By letter dated December 12, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19346H890), you submitted an application to renew and to revise Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 9294, for the Model No.
NPC transport package. The package is designed to transport both homogeneous and heterogeneous forms of Type A quantities of uranium bearing material enriched up to five weight percent. The application proposes to introduce additional uranium compounds as approved content and to reestablish heterogeneous uranium payload limits previously authorized in CoC No. 9294, Revision 5.
The staff performed an acceptance review of your application and determined the application contains sufficient technical information in scope and depth to allow the staff to complete a detailed technical review. We have established a schedule for the review and estimated that the staff may need approximately 200 hours0.00231 days <br />0.0556 hours <br />3.306878e-4 weeks <br />7.61e-5 months <br /> to complete its review. The schedule allows for the staff to issue a request for additional information (RAI) in April 2020 and, if a second RAI is not needed, a CoC in July 2020, based on you responding to the first RAI in May 2020. In general, no additional changes to the application should be submitted except for changes resulting from your response to an RAI.
