t Gentlemen: l (U-~ \ In your letter dated June 23, 1978, concerning the Turkey Point Plant -

Unit Nos.1 and 2, you responded to our letter of June 5,1978 which i transmitted a docun :nt entitled, " Manpower Requirements for Operating Reactors". In this response, you reiterated your position that a  ;

3-man fire brigade is adequate to cope with any fire at your Turkey  !

Point facility. However, in recognition of our position on fire brigade -  !

size, you stated that you would agree to designate two individuals who .

could provide additional assistance in a fire situation. You indicated j that these two individuals, however, would not receive the extent of i training required of the fire brigade members.

In order that we may evaluate this proposal to supplement the fire i brigade with two additional individuals, we request that you provide l a response to the attached request for additional infomation as soon -

as possible but no later than November 9,1978. This infomation is ,

p' required to complete our safety evaluation of the fire protection program.

A copy of the enclosed request was telecopied to you on October 16, l 1978. l t

of Florida Power and Light's proposal to supplement the fire brigade with two additional individuals:

1. Describe the method which would be used to insure the availability of supplementary fire brigxk support personnel, e.g. Technical Specification, plant operating procedure, and any other means.
2. Describe those specific actions for which supplementary fire brigade support personnel would be expected'to fulfiR in a fire situation. . .
