Gentlemen:
As required by 10 CFR 50.54(p), enclosed are four copies of Revision 49 to the McGuire Nuclear Station Physical Security Plan that addresses the temporary relocation of the protected area barrier to accommodate the constmetion of an Office / Shop facility, clarifies compensatory measures for the Standby Shutdown Facility, explains the potential use of.40 caliber carbine rifles in the contingency response program and other miscellaneous changes.
The enclosed Synopsis of Changes details the specific text changes. 'Ihese changes do not decrease the effectiveness of the McGuire Nuclear Station Physical Security Plan.
Since Revision 49 details features of the McGuire Nuclear Station security system, I request Revision 49 be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 73.21.
