Your response stated that fire barrier configurations at Summer Station were installed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and approved procedures. We understand that as an interim corrective action, you have established a roving hourly firewatch 1
in the five plant areas at the Summer Station where Thermo-lag is installed.
We also understand that your interim corrective action will remain in effect until the operability of these fire barriers can be demonstrated.

The staff requests that you review the results of the NUMARC program and, within 30 days of its completion, inform us of the required actions and schedule for restoring operability to the affected fire barriers.
If the NUMARC program is not bounding for Summer Station, we request that you provide us with a description of any plant specific testing that will be required along with a schedule for this testing.
