This letter refers to the announced safety inspection conducted by 'Mr. P. Drysdale and

others of this office from October 4 to 8,1993. The inspectors reviewed the program:

- Motor-Operated Valve Testing and Surveillance." At the conclusion of the onsite inspection,

the results were discussed with Mr. M. McCormick and other members of your staff at the

Nine Mile Point station. ; The inspection concluded with a telephone conference on

December 14,1993, between Mr. M. Jones of your staff and Region I personnel to

follow up on the results of motor-operated valve m xiifications and dynamic tests conducted -
during the recent refueling outage at Unit 2.
