CLOSE0VT SURVEY OF TIS 0N NUCLEAR This letter refers to the special closecut survey conducted on January 20-21, 1993, of the facilities formerly occupied by Rad Science' Corporation, Division of Tison Nuclear (also known as Tison-Pease), previously located at 9459 Jefferson Blvd., Culver City, California, 2222 South Sepulveda, Los Angeles, California, and 1519 Pontius Avenue, Los Angeles, California, during the period of approximately November 1960 through March 1963.
Licensed activities were previously authorized by AEC License 4-6953-1. The inspection was conducted by Mr. Michael Cillis of this office and Mr. Kim S. Wong, State of California, Department of Health Services. This letter also refers to the discussion held by Mr. Cillis and Mr. Wong with yourself and the other individuals listed in Section 1 at the conclusion of the closeout survey, regarding the results of the confirmatory measurements conducted during the inspection.
The enclosed copy of the inspection report identifies areas examined during the inspection. The inspection consisted of a selective examination of representative records from the former files, observations, independent measurements, and interviews with the current building owner and tenants.
Based upon the results of this inspection, we have concluded that the former licensee's facility was successfully decontaminated in accordance with current NRC guidelines for release of facilities for unrestricted use.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
