Blair Spitzberg, and other - -members of an NRC team during the period December 13-22. 1993. The inspection-
included a review of activities ~ authorized for your Coop.. Nuclear Station. > . At;the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with you and , those members of your staff identified in the enclosed report. . . Areas examined included the. implementation of your emergency plan and procedures during your annual emergency exercise. _Within these areas, the . inspection consisted of. selective examination,0f procedures and- representative ' 1k records, interviews with fersonnel, and observations-by the' inspectors. The- ! . inspection findings 'are . documented in the enclosed inspection. report. ' i ' One exercise weakness was identified during the inspection. The weakness ' involved the dispatch of an in-plant team member into the reactor building ,1 , during the simulated emergency without ensuring _ that he was properly qua'ified to use' respiratory protection equipment in the event that changing - radiological conditions.had warranted its use. ! J Exercise weaknesses according to 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E.IV.F.5, are inspection findings that need'to be corrected by the licensee. You are ', requested'to provide this office with a description of your corrective measures and your schedule for ~ completing these actions within 30. days after receipt of this letter. o With _the exception of i.he one exercise weakness, the inspection team observed' improvement in your performance from previous exercises-in several areas .) ~ - ) including, command and control, technical assessment, and notification
