Gentlemen:

This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. E. Baer of this office during

the period July 16-20, 1990, of activities authorized by NRC 0?erating

License NPF-87 and Construction Permit CPPR-127 for Comanche Peak Steam

Electric Station, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. A. Scott and

other members of your staff-at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection included the radioactive material

transportation and riid-radioactive waste programs. Within these arcas, the

inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector. The

inspection findings are documented in the enclosed inspection report.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were

identified.

Three open items identified for inspector followup are discussed in

paragraphs 6.b. 6 d, and 7 in the enclosed report.

Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to

discuss them with you.
