(TAC NOS. M85308 AND M85309) l By letters dated January 8, 1993 and August 18, 1993, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted proposed revisions to the Sequoyah Nuclear. Plant Units 1 and 2 Technical Specifications (TS) to remove Surveillance Requirement (SR) 4.4.1.b from the TS. The SR requires inspection of the reactor. vessel nozzles at the end of each Inservice Inspection 10-year interval.

Following discussions with TVA personnel and review of.the proposed TS change, the staff has determined that certain commitments are needed before the i
amendment can be processed further. A summary of the present nozzle inspection status and the needed commitments are contained in the enclosure.
We request that you provide the staff with a letter indicating your acceptance of the commitments.
