SUBJECT: COMBINED INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-352/93-29 AND 50-353/93-29
This letter transmits the results of the resident safety inspection by Messrs. N. Perry, and
T. Eastick, from November 2, through December 13, 1993, at the Limerick Generating
Station, Limerick, Pennsylvania. The inspection focused on issues important to ensuring the
public health and safety and consisted of observations of activities, reviews of documents and
interviews with plant personnel. The results are documented in the enclosed report and were
discussed with Mr. R. Boyce of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
In general, activities ufac found to be conducted safely. In three instances, enforcement
discretion was exercised because of low safety significance and your good efforts in
identifying, evaluating, and taking comprehensive corrective actions. Two instances
concerned the failure to drain portions of the spray pond network piping after use and a
related failure to report this incident in an LER within 30 days. The third instance
concerned a failure to adequately perform a detailed review of a surveillance test and identify

data not logged as required.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and

its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
