Arkansas Nuclear One - Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos.- 50-313/50-368 i

License Nos. DPR-51 and NPF-o Inspection Report 50-313/90-04; 50-368/90-04 Semiannual Effluent Release Reports l

Gentlemen:

i During the NRC exit meeting for inspection 50-313/90-04; 50-368/90-04 conducted on February 2, 1990, the inspector recommended-that the reporting format for the Semiannual Radioactive-Effluent Release Reports be revised to comply with Regulatory Guide 1.21, Revision 1.

The' Technical Specifications for both units currently state ~that the data will be summarized following the format of Regulatory Guide 1.21, Revision 0, Appendix A.

As discussed on July 12, 1990, with Mr. Blaine _Murray of-the'NRC Region IV staff by Messrs. Bill McKelvy and Dennis Boyd of the ANO staff, ANO plans-to change to the Regulatory Guide 1.21, Revision 1. format.

A new computer system is in the process of development that will include a database for reporting radioactive effluer t releases in the format n ? -

Regulatory Guide 1.21, Revision 1.. This database.is expected to be completed by January 1, 1991..Notwithstanding complications with the development of the new computer system, current plans are to_ submit the semiannual report for the first six months of 1991 in the Revision 1 format L

by August 30, 1991.-

1 l~

A proposed revision to Unit 1 Technical Specification 6.12.2.6(b) and Unit 2 Technical Specification 6.9.3.1 will.be submitted to request the change to Regulatory Guide 1.21, Revision 1.
