Dear Mr. Miller:

Enclosed are thirty four (34) copies of Chapter 18,' Human Factors *, draft revisions to the Standard Safety Analysis Report (SSAR) for the Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR). This draft provides information supplemental to Appendix 18A, as previously submitted, and provides a  ;

new appendix, Appendix 18D, ' Emergency Procedures Gulclelines Input Data and Calculation

- Resu'ts'. In addition, there are several other changes to Chapter 18 included.

Appendix 18A is being sent as a complete packape, including the pages that did not change, to facilitate the use of this revised appendix. The revised pages are noted on the lower left by the word ' Amendment

• without a number.

This material relates to the Cha ater 18 proprietary information that was previously sent to the NRC via the above reference and ; ts corresponding proprietary affidavit.

It is intended that GE will amend the SSAR in a future amendment.
