SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-443/93-17
This letter transmits the report of the safety inspection findings of the resident staff at
Seabrook Station for the period of August 29 through October 4,1993. The inspection
consisted of document reviews, personnel interviews, and observations of activities important
,
to the health and safety of the public. The inspector discussed the findings with Mr. W.
DiProfio and members of your staff after the inspection.
Overall, this inspection found that activities were conducted safely. Management
demonstrated a good safety perspective by making conservative decisions for inspecting,
repairing, and replacing equipment during unplanned outages. Personnel errors continued,
including the improper wiring of a test switch. Your continued attention is warranted to
eliminate personnel errors that could cause injuries or challenge safety related equipment.
