ENCLOSURE SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 SPECIAL REPORT 93-21 DeSCIhtlinn_nLSandi_Linn on September 24, 1993, with Unit 1 in Mode 5 coming out of a refueling outage and Unit 2 in Mode 5 for a maintenance outage, Fire Barrier Door A-36, which accesses the cask decontamination collector tank room on Elevation 669.0 of the auxiliary building, was intentionally breached. A hose bypassing the floor drain collector tank was routed through the door from a temporary waste processing system on Elevation 653.0 to the cask decontamination collector tank.
The temporary system will be needed unt il repairs are completed on the auxiliary building floor drain piping. The fire door barrier will be breached in excess of the technical specification allowable timeframe and is expected to be returned to a funct.,nal status in December 19^3.
4 Corrective _ Action In accordance with Limiting Condition for Operation 3.7.12 Acticn Statement (a), an hourly fire watch was established and will be maintained until the barrier is restored to a f unctional status.
This condition is being reported in accordance with Technical Specification Action Statement 3.7.12.a.
