Dear Mr. Mcdonald:
The University of Texas requests an update of the Quality Assurance Program approval for shipment of radioactive material, approval number 0535.
Plans to ship TRIGA fuel elements from the Taylor llall facility to the Balcones Research Center Facility, approximately 12 miles, are contingent on the issuance of the docket 50 602 license.
Schedules project a shipment no earlier than December 1990 and possibly in the spring of 1991.
An approval expiration date of December 31, 1991 is requested, j
Enclosed is a copy of the QA Plan as previously submitted and approved as part of Section 9 of the University of Texas Safety Analysis Report (SAR).
The Plan has been redesignated section 10.6 of the latest revision (November 1989) of the SAR.
Please verify that the University of Texas remains a registered user for the BMI-l USA /5957/B( )F cask for the period December 1,1990 to-December 31, 1991.
