TROJAN NUCLEAR PLANT Trojan Operating Report

OPERATIONS The plant began the month in mode 3, with the reactor coolant

c..

system at 554 F and 2230 psig.

Reactor criticality was achieved at 1330 on July 5th with the plant in mode 2.

Jim Cross assumed all duties associated-with this position as Vice President on July 9th.

The plant was taken to mode 3 on July lith due to an Unusual Event, which resulted from a conservative call by Operators when

~

main steam safety valves failed to reseat in the expected time.

U Further investigation tevealed the safety valves functioned properly.

The plant was restarted on July 13th and full power operation reached on July 17th.- A minor leak was detected in the reactor E

head inner seal on July 20th.

The plant continued to generate at-100% through the remainder of July.

MAJOR MAINTENANCE COMPLETED Significant Maintenance completed during the months Main-turbine lube oil system.
