on November 2-19, 1993. The-inspection included a review of activities ~

authorized for your South Texas Project Electric Generating Station, Units 1
and 2, facility. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were

discussed with you and those members of your staff identified.in the enclosed
report.

Areas examined during the inspection included your self-assessmentLeapability-

and information exchange with the. industry. _ Within these areas,: the

inspection consisted of selective' examinations of procedures'and.

representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of-

activities in progress. Your self-assessment program appears to bez
,
functioning well. However, we are concerned with;the recent4 increase in your.

backlog of planned corrective actions related to significantLstation problems.
