Dear Sir:

Hope Creek Generating Station Docket No. 50-354 Unit No. 1 Special Report 93-01 This Special Report is being submitted pursuant to the requirements of Hope Creek Technical Specification 3.3.7.2 -

action a, due to the Seismic Monitoring Instrumentation being inoperable for more than 30 days.

On 11/05/93, the Seismic Monitoring Instrumentation was removed from service to perform a Tech Spec required 18 month channel calibration of the system.

During the final portion of the surveillance, it was determined that a new test card was needed to complete the testing.

The card has been ordered and expected to arrive in mid December when testing will be resumed with an expected completion date of 12/31/93.

l Although the system cannot be declared operable, the system will be functional until test completion.

i Sincerely, t

R.J. Homey l
