MONTICELI4 NUCLEAR GENERATING PIANT E-5979 Postulated Pipe Failures Outside Containment Your January 18, 1974 letter referencing our August 1973 report on the subject matter posed additional questions for our response.
Although your letter requested our response by March 4, in a March 1 con * ^aation with your Mr James Shea, our submission date was extenued to March 11.
Under separate cover we ne forwarding forty (40) copies l
of the required answer information.
As indicated in the answer information, the plant modi-fication to protect against feeduter pipe failures has been changed.
The altered modification work, although of limited scope, ca.inot be completed during the first q' arter of 1974 as indicated in our September 7, 1973 letter.
As you know the plant will be shut down about March 15 for a refueling outage and is expected back in service by May 15, 1974.
Our schedule is to have the feedwater line modification work completed prior to restart of the plant following the refueling outage.
