MONTICELIO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT E-5979 Postulated Pipe Failures Outside Containment In response to your request letter of December 18, 1972 and referenced in our letters of January 5, May 23, and July 25, 1973, wo are subitting under separate cover 60 copias of a report resulting from a study con-ducted on the subject matter. The study was guided by the requirements furnished with your December 18 letter as modified by the errata con-veyed with your January 16, 1973 letter.
As indicated in Section 7 of the report, the study finds that the only plant modification required is the addition of structural facilities above the feedvater lhes to protect the mezzanine floor against the pressure of jet impingement. Le required design verk has begun and we anticipate material can be delivered to allow completing the work during the first quarter of 1974.
