APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Mississippi Power and Light Company Docket No. 50-416 Grand Gulf 1 License No. CPPR-118 As a result of the inspection conducted on May 3-7, 1982, and in accordance with the NRC Enforcement Policy, 47 FR 9987 (March 9,1982), the following violations were identified.

A. 10 CFR 50, Appendix B, Criterion V, and the accepted QA program, policy 5, require that activities affecting quality be prescribed by documented instructions, procedures, or drawings and that the activities be accomp-lished in accordance with these instructions, procedures or drawings.

Procedure 01-S-05-55 requires that superseded and revised drawings be removed from controlled files and that updated copies be issued upon receipt of a orawing revision.

Contrary to the above, the inspector found the following drawings either out of date or missing from controlled files:

1. M10818-G36, revision 9 6. M1067-E12, revision 16

2. MIC83B-B21, revision 14 7. M1090B-E-31-8, revision 11

3. M10838-E12, revision 14 8. M1109-28, revision 1

4. M1083B-E21, revision 15 9. M1083B-E38, revision 14

5. M1085A-E12, revi sion 19 This is a Severity Level IV Violation (Supplement II).

B. 10 CFR 50, Appendix B, Criterion XII, requires that measures be estab-lished to assure that measuring and test devices used in activities affec-ting quality are calibrated at specified periods. The accepted QA program, policy 12, implements this requirement and commits to follow ANSI N18.7-1976. Implementing Procedure AP01-S-07-3, Revision 5, Section 6.4.3(a) states that calibration intervals shall be selected (and followed).

Contrary to the above, calibration intervals were not met in that sixty percent of the measuring and test instruments selected by the inspector had neither been pulled from service nor calibrated by the calibration due date.

This is a Severity Level IV Violation (Supplement II).

Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, you are hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including: (1) acmission or denial of the alleged viola-tions; (2) the reasons for the violations if admitted; (3) the corrective steps 0208030428 820722 PDR ADOCK 05000416 o PDR
