Dear Mr. Denton:
By letter of reference (a), Commonwealth Edison requested changes to the wording of the Zion Operating Licenses regarding radioactive sources.
Following discussions with members o f the NRC staff, Commonwealth Edison has agreed to amend that request by the addition o f a Technical Specification on sealed source contamination.
The Attachment to this letter contains the revised pages to be added to Zion's Technical Specifications.
The proposed specification has been developed from the NRC's Standard Technical Specifications and the State of Illinois regulations concerning radioactive sources.
This change should be processed along with the revisions to the text of the Zion Licenses, previously submitted in reference (a).
Please address any questions concerning this matter to this Three (3) signed originals and thirty-nine (39) copies o f this transmittal are provided for your use.
