This letter is to inform the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency that the NRC is releasing the TMI-2 Vessel Investigation Project (VIP) reports to the public

by placing them in the.NRC's Public Document Room. This is consistent with the October 27, 1993, telefax that you sent to me on this subject, the fact that the VIP Management Board decided to release all the information on this l
project, and the October 20-22, 1993, VIP meeting in Boston which was n Open Forum for the general public.
.1 In the future, I suggest i. hat the notice on the cover of reports that restricts distribution of OECD project rep::rts to OECD participants be revised to lift such restrictions once the project is completed. That w. ld avoid potentially complicating legal issues related to releasing these documents to the general public.
