This letter refers to the above subject safeguards inspection of the ' Oyster Creek Nuclear

Generating Station by Mr. G. C. Smith of this office. Our preliminary findings and conclusions

were discussed by Mr. Smith with Mr. S.12 Vin and members of your staff at the conclusion -

of the inspection.

The purpose and scope of this inspection are described in the enclosed NRC Region I Inspection -

Report. The inspection consisted of observations by the inspector, interviews with personnel,

and examination of selected procedures and records.

This inspector concluded that the physical security program, as implemented,-was directed'

toward protecting public health and safety. - No safety concerns or violations were identified.-

No response to this letter is required. Thank you for your cooperation.
