APPENDIX ~A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Georgia Power Company Docket No. 50-366 Hatch 2 License No. NPF-5 As a result of the inspection conducted on March 2-5 and 16-19, 1982, and in accordance with the NRC Enforcement Policy, 47 FR 9987 (March 9,1982), the following violation was identified.
10 CFR 50, Appendix B, Criterion V, as implemented by paragraph 17.2.5 of the Hatch 2 FSAR, requires in part that, activities affecting quality shall be prescribed by documented instructions, procedures, and drawings and shall be accomplished in accordance with these instructions, procedures, and drawings.
Division 4, Section 8, paragraph 8.5.3 of CB&I " Nuclear Quality Assurance Manual for ASME Section III Products", the applicable procedure for in process inspection of torus modification welds, requires that the CB&I Welding QA Supervisor assure that joints are properly fitup and aligned prior to welding. Det' ail "C" on contract ' drawing 71, revision 5, requires that both members of weld B-4 on drawing R56, revision 1 (torus downcomer reinforcement weld), be beveled 15.

SUMMARY
Inspection on March 2-5, and 16-19,1982 Areas Inspected This routine, unannounced inspection involved 90 inspector-hours on site in the areas of inservice inspection (ISI) (Unit 2); welding and nondestructive examina-tion program for torus modifications (Units 1 and 2); IE Bulletin 80-08, examin-ation of containment liner penetration welds (Units 1 and 2); and previous inspection findings (Units 1 and 2).
Results Of the four areas inspected, no violations or deviations were identified in three areas; one violation was found in one area (Violation - Failure to follow proce-dure for inspection of weld fitup, paragraph 8.a).
