OCT 2 31930 Docket No.: 99901108/90-01 Mr. James Sands Quality Assurance Manager B&G Manufacturing Company P.O. Box 269 3067 Unionville Pike Hatfield, Pennsylvania 19440

Dear Mr. Sands:

This letter refers to the inspection led by Mr. Steven M. Matthews of this office on August 30, 1990 at your Hatfield, Pennsylvania facility and the discussion-of the findings with you at the conclusion of the inspection.

The inspection was conducted to assess the procurement of machining services and other special processes from vendors supplying B&G Manufacturing Company (BGM) and to review the corrective actions taken in response to the findings documented in Inspection Report No. 99901108/88-01. Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in the enclosed report. This inspection consisted of an examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectors. The assessment was accomplished through performance-based reviews of these areas.

The-last Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection of BGM was performed in August 1988, and documented in Inspection Report No. 99901108/88-01.

Subsequent exchange of correspondence between BGM and the NRC did not fully resolve all nonconformances which were identified.

The inspectors were provided a copy of BGM's reply dated August 29, 1990 to the nonconformances that had not been adequately addressed in-previous correspondence.

The NRC inspectors reviewed this response and corrective actions taken by BGM. The review and assessment determined that the corrective actions taken by BGM were adequate and therefore the previous inspection findings are considered closed.
