Task Order 3, " Nondestructive Examination Support at Brunswick I-Nuclear Power Planti," Under contract No. NRC-03-90-028 In accordance with Section G.5, " Task Order Procedures," of the subject contract, this letter definitizes Task Order 3.

This effort shall be performed in accordance with the. enclosed Statement of Work and the contractor's' proposal dated September 26g 1990, incorporated herein~by reference.

i Task Order 3 shall be in effect from December 3, 1990 through l

December 14, 1990 with a cost ceiling of $15,047.22. The amount of

$14,195.49 represents the total estimated reimbursable costs and the amount l

of $851.73 represents the fixed fee.

The amount presently obligated with respect to this task order is' S5,350.41 of which 45,029.39 represents the reimbursable costs and the amount o,f

$321.02 represents the fixed fee. This cbligated amount may be unilaterally increased from tiu to tice by the Contracting Officer by written modification to this task order.

The obligated amount shall, at no tire, exceed the task' order ceiling. When and if the amount (s) paid and payable to the Contractor hereunder sh'all equal the obligated amount, the Contractor shall not be obligated to continue performance of the work

' unless and until the Contracting Officer shall increase the amount obligated with respect to this. task order. Any work undertaken by the Contractor in excess of the obligited amount specified above is done so at the Contractor s sole risk. The Contracter shall cc= ply with the 8

provisions of 52.232 Limitation of Funds for this incrementally funded task order.

g Provide NRC; Region I, assistance and services in independent non-destructive examinations at Brunswick'l Nuclear Power Plant..The examination require-ments include liquid penetrant, magnetic particle ultrasonic radiography and visual. examination per requirement,s of. ASME B&PV Code.

2' BACKGROUND The NRC trailer is completely equipped with.X-ray film cassettes, penetra-meters, lead lined isotope storage cabinet, and all~ items necessary to perform radiography. The NRC trailer includes a. prod method, Magnaflux -

f P90 machine 'and two Y-5 and Y-6. yokes to perform magnetic l particle examina.-

tions. The NRC trailer also-includes the necessary liquid penetrant materials.

and equipment to perform both visible solvent removable and fluorescent liquid penetrant examinations.

-As a part of the NRC: independent measurements program applied to nuclear i

power: plants th'e NRC plans to use this NDE trailer.to' examine a sample of

welds.and base materials at Brunswick 1 Nuclear Plant..The NRC will provide detailed work procedures for each type'of NDE required. The NRC-will provide the. necessary person (s) at the-Brunswick 1 site who will' have-ethel authority to coordinate the. operations; -contact the ' licensee, AE or.-

contractor; revise the procedures, and issue addenda as-necessary and-assume.overall responsibility.for the inspection activity, NRC will make il the necessary: arrangements for moving the trailer and NRC supplied equipment-l to-the Brunswick' I site and the return back' to-Region I.
