Dear Mr. Denton:

In response to an NRC Staff request for information regarding balance-of-plant Class lE equipment qualification, attached please find environmental test reports for hydrogen skimmer and containment air return fan motors.

Included in this submittal are the following documents:

1.

Test Report FF-14282 and supplemental technical paper TA 4081.

2.

Test Report X-604.

The above documents describe three different environmental test conducted on prototype fan / motor assemblies similar to those used at the McGuire Nuclear Station. These three tests are:

1.

A seven day test of a horizontally positioned fan / motor assembly meeting the requirements of IEEE 334-1971

An eleven day test of a vertically positioned fan / motor assembly meeting the requirements of IEEE 334-1971

A one year and three day test of a horizontally positioned fan / motor assembly meeting the requirements of IEEE 334-1974

Test Report FF-14282 for test procedure outline and Test ".eport X-604 for test results).

We request that these documents be withheld from public disclosure as they are considered proprietary information by the manufacturer of this equipment.

Accordingly, the manufacturer has provided an affidavit (attached) as required by 10CFR2.790 outlining the reasons that this documentation be withheld from public disclosure.
