COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION (CPSES) - UNIT 1 DOCKET NO. 50-445 SPECIAL REPORT ON THE UNIT 1. THIRD REFUELING OUTAGE, STEAM GENERATOR INSERVICE INSPECTION TUBE PLUGGING AND

SUMMARY

REPORT Gentlemen:

This letter provides the Inservice Inspection (151) Special Report on the steam generator tube 151 for Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station's third refueling outage on Unit 1.

This report is being provided to you pursuant to CPSES Unit 1 Technical Specificaticns 4.0.6.Sa. 4.0.6.5b and 6.9.2.

Full length examinations of 3686 steam generator tubes-in. steam generators 1 and 4 were performed using multi-frequency bobbin coil techniques.

This represents 20.2% of the active (non-plugged) tubes it, the four steam generators.

This sample included all tubes in these two steam generators with previously detected indications.

Additionally, five tubes were examined using rotating pancake coil (RPC) methodology to assist in characterizing distorted support plate signals.

None of the distorted signals were confirmed using RPC methodology.

The following table identifies the number of' tubes examined, tubes where indications exist, and the thru-wall percentage of those indications.
