ENCLOSURE SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT (SQN) UNITS 1 AND 2 14-DAY FOLLOW-UP REPORT SPECIAL REPORT 93-19 l
r i
f SQN Technical Specification (TS) Limiting Condition for Operation l
(LCO) 3.7.11.1 requires that the fire suppression water system be operable through the last valve ahead of the water pressure alarm device on each sprinkler or hose standpipe and through the last valve ahead of the deluge valve on each deluge or spray system in the auxiliary building.
Description _of Condition On September 24, 1993, at 2340 Eastern daylight time (EDT), with Unit 1 1
in Mode 5 in a refueling outare and Unit 2 in Mode 5 in a forced outage, LCOs 3.7.11.1, 3.7.11.2, and ?.7.11.4 were entered. A portion of the fire header in the auxiliary building was removed from service in order to perform maintenance. A pin-hole leak in the header, as well as a header isolation valve, was to be repaired. However, the boundary isolation valve would not seat sufficiently to establish the required i
clearance.
On September 25, 1993, at 2055 EDT, the fire suppression water system was returned to service, and the subject LCOs were exited.
{
CorInclite._aclions Appropriate compensatory measures in the form of fire watches and a back-up fire suppression water system were established before the initiation of the clearance to comply with TS Action S tatements 3. 7.11.1(b), 3. 7.11. 2(a), and 3 7.11.4(a).
This event is being reported in accordance with the requirements of LCO 3.7.11.1 Action Statemcat (b)(2)(c).
