SUBJECT:
NUCLEAR FUEL MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS I am acknowledging your September 15, 1993, letter to Mr. Robert Bernero in which Combustion Engineering notified the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of the decision to terminate, by September 30, 1993, commercial nuclear fuel manufacturing operations at the Windsor facility.
Following the termination of the manufacturing operations, CE plans to decontaminate and decommission the buildings used for the fuel manufacturing operations.
We understand that after the cessation of fuel manufacturing operations, CE intends to continue the laboratory research and development activity with reduced possession limits of special nuclear material. CE plans to submit an amendment request to reflect these changes in September 1993.
