STATION BLACK 0UT RULE, 10 CFR 50.63, IMPLEMENTATION INSPECTION AT CATAWBA 1 & 2 This is to inform you that the NRC will perform a Station Blackout (SBO) Rule implementation inspection at the Catawba Nuclear Power Plant. The onsite inspection activities are scheduled for the week of November 1,1993.

The inspection will assess the emergency diesel generator reliability program, l
baseline assumption analyses and related information used in coping evalua-tions, hardware and/or procedural modifications, SB0 procedures and actions pertaining to specific recommendations in the NRC Safety Evaluation Report (SER).
We request that you have available for the inspectors' review the documenta-l tion required by the SB0 Rule and Regulatory Guide 1.155, documentation supporting SB0 responses to the NRC and actions taken in response to questions and recommendations in the safety evaluations.
