This letter transmits the report of the routine announced safety inspection conducted by
Mr. R. J. Paolino of this office for the period July 6-9,1993, at the Oyster Creek Nuclear

Generating Station. The inspection consisted of document reviews, personnel interviews,

verification of the additional information being added to the engineering data base to enhance
,
future identification, and control and documentation related to environmentally-qualified (EQ)
<
components.

Based on this review, the inspector determined that the Oyster Creek GMS2 engineering
i
database was being expanded to address common and interface components, and additional
.
EQ and system component evaluation information related to these components. Incorporation
l
of the EQ information into your computerized component database is scheduled for
completion by December 30,1993. No safety concerns v'ere identified.
l
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and
its enclosure will be placed in the Public Document Room.
