l Gentlemen, t

I have lived in the vicinity of Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power l

Plant, and have since its construction began.

I have experienced l

no problems, physical or emotional, from living in its proximity.

i l

! believe that it should be allowed to recapture the years lost between construction and startup.

Particularly since they were l

lost through no fault of P.G. & E's.

Those years were lost by regulatory changes and outside interference and should not be used to penalize P.G. & E.

I I firmly believe that nuclear power is one of the answers to our l

energy needs. The plant has proven itself by being one of the t

best operating plants in the United States and will, I am sure, continue to operate in a safe and efficient manner.

I believe l

that the current license should be extended to recapture those lost years.

It seems foolish to build auch a fine facility, that operates so well, and then have to decommission it after 20

+

are.
